Principles
- Accuracy over speed. We would rather say a fact is unconfirmed than publish a guess.
- Official sources first. Exam and residency facts come only from official sources, which we cite on every page.
- Transparency. We label our own recommendations, such as study plans and interview advice, as ours.
- Independence. We are not affiliated with any exam or health authority, and no commercial partner influences our content.
- Originality. We write our own questions and never use recalled or leaked exam material.
- No guarantees. We do not claim that any resource guarantees a pass or a residency place.
Exam and residency information
Pages about EMREE and UAE residency are researched against the official sources: the EMREE exam board site (including its FAQs, exam structure, application process, results and rules pages), the official Nov 2025 blueprint, the NIHS service page, and the residency pages of DoH Abu Dhabi, Dubai Health/MBRU and EHS. We use the following rules:
- Each fact must trace to an official page. Third-party sources may prompt research but are not published as fact.
- If no official statement exists, we say the information is not officially published and link the official site.
- If official sources conflict, for example on fee tax wording or on a date printed differently on two official pages, we state the conflict and which source we follow.
- Cycle-specific facts, such as pass marks and sitting dates, are labelled with their cycle.
- We keep the three residency pathways separate, because their rules differ.
- Every page shows a last-verified date. We re-check pages when official sources change and before each exam cycle.
How practice questions are written
Each question is written to a documented specification:
- It is mapped to a discipline and topic from the official content outline and to a competency from the blueprint’s competency table, and given a target difficulty in line with the blueprint’s 40% easy, 40% moderate and 20% difficult mix.
- It is a single-best-answer clinical vignette with four options, reflecting the format of the exam board’s legacy 2012 sample paper, since current official pages do not state the number of options.
- It has one defensible best answer based on current guidelines or standard texts, with an explanation, a reason why each alternative is wrong, key learning points and references.
- It is set at the level the exam board describes: a graduate with at least one year of training, in a UAE context.
- It avoids brand names and unnecessary clues, and is culturally appropriate for practice in the UAE.
We may use software tools, including AI writing assistance, when drafting content. Tools never replace verification: every fact is checked against its source, and clinical content must pass clinical review before it is marked as reviewed.
Clinical review and review status
Clinical content is reviewed by a qualified clinician, who checks that the answer is correct and current, that the question has only one best answer, that the explanation is accurate, and that the references support it. Each question carries a visible status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Awaiting clinical review | Written to our specification and checked for structure, but not yet reviewed by a clinician. Use with care. |
| Clinically reviewed | Reviewed by a clinician and approved for use. |
| Under revision | A problem has been reported or found and the question is being corrected. |
Our initial seed question set is currently awaiting clinical review. We are publishing it with that label so candidates can begin practising, and we will update each question’s status as review is completed. If you notice a problem in a seed question, please report it.
Study plans and advice
Study plans, revision priorities, interview tips and similar guidance are our own recommendations. We base them on the official blueprint weights and rules where possible, and we label them clearly as recommendations rather than official requirements.
Corrections
We welcome reports of errors. You can report a problem through the report option on any question or through our contact page. Our process:
- We log the report and check it against the official source or current clinical guidance.
- If the content is wrong, we correct it and, for questions, set the status to “Under revision” until the corrected version is reviewed.
- For exam and residency pages, we update the last-verified date and note significant corrections on the page.
- If the report is not upheld, we keep a note of why, in case the issue is raised again.
Updates and independence
We review exam information whenever the exam board or an authority publishes changes, such as a new blueprint, a new cycle calendar or a revised pass mark, and before each new cycle. Advertising or commercial arrangements, if any, never determine what we write about exam rules or residency pathways. Read more about us and our educational disclaimer.
Frequently asked questions
Who reviews your practice questions?
Clinical content is reviewed by a qualified clinician before it is marked as clinically reviewed. Each question shows its review status.
Have your seed questions been clinically reviewed?
Not yet. Our initial seed questions are labelled 'Awaiting clinical review' and will be updated as review is completed.
Where do your exam facts come from?
Only from official sources: the EMREE exam board site, the official blueprint, the NIHS page, and the DoH, Dubai Health/MBRU and EHS residency pages.
Do you use AI to write content?
We may use software tools, including AI writing assistance, in drafting. All facts are verified against sources, and clinical content must pass clinical review before it is marked as reviewed.
How do I report an error?
Use the report option on any question or our contact page. We check every report and correct confirmed errors.
