Before you start
- Confirm you meet the eligibility rules for the exam and for the residency programmes you are targeting.
- Check the current sittings and enrollment windows. As of 1 November 2026, the 2026-27 calendar has not been published.
- Have a credit or debit card ready (MasterCard, VISA or Visa Electron are named) for the AED 1,000 fee.
- If you live outside the UAE, plan your visa: the exam is held in Al Ain and the visa is your own responsibility.
Step-by-step registration
- Create your account. Go to the official registration page and register with your email and a strong password of at least 8 characters, including upper case, lower case, a digit and a symbol. You only register once. Accounts created before 1 December 2019 must re-register.
- Log in during an enrollment window. Use the login page. While enrollment is open, the “Examinations” menu shows available exams with an “Enroll” link.
- Enrol in a sitting. Choose the EMREE sitting you want. Enrollment opens at 8:00 AM on the start day and closes at 11:59 PM on the end date, or earlier if seats fill.
- Pay online. Payment is by credit card. A successful payment enrols you automatically and generates a receipt.
- Keep your confirmation. Applicants receive an acknowledgement and a reference number.
- Authorise result sharing. According to the processing of results page, during the application you can authorise your results to be sent to the organisation of your choice.
Documents and ID
The official register page asks only for an email and password, and no document uploads are listed for exam registration. If the portal asks for anything else when you enrol, follow its instructions; we have not found an official list of upload requirements.
On exam day, the exam rules require face recognition plus an official identification document (passport and/or Emirates ID). The FAQ says an Emirates ID is preferable, and a valid passport is mandatory for candidates without UAE residency.
The rules page also explains that a 15-minute practice session may be offered before the computer-based exam, that lockers are provided for personal belongings, that candidates arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted and that no one may leave during the first 30 minutes. The test centre is at the College of Medicine & Health Sciences in Al Ain; location details are on the Contact Us page.
Residency applications are different: DoH, Dubai Health and EHS each list documents such as degree certificates, internship certificates, CV and your EMREE statement of results. Those are submitted to the authority, not to the exam portal.
Important rules once you are enrolled
- No refunds. The official site states in capitals that there will be no refunds for any registration.
- No date changes or fee transfers once you are enrolled.
- One exam at a time. You may register for only one examination at a time.
- Attempt limits. Up to three attempts are allowed to pass within one academic year; no further attempts once you pass in the same year.
Common registration problems
- No “Enroll” link visible: enrollment is probably closed or not yet open. Check the dates on the home page.
- Sitting full: windows can close before the published end date when seats run out.
- Old account not working: accounts from before 1 December 2019 must be re-created.
- Payment or account issues: contact the exam board at [email protected] or +971 3 713 7108 (from the Contact Us page).
Our tip: register when you are ready, not just when a seat is free
This is our recommendation rather than an official rule. Because every attempt appears on your transcript and Dubai Health deducts for a pass after an earlier failure in the same cycle, it is worth booking a sitting once your practice scores are stable. A sensible check is two or three full-length mock exams taken under timed conditions. Begin with the free diagnostic to see where you stand.
