How our mocks reflect the official exam
The official sources set the framework; we design our mocks to match it as closely as the published information allows:
- Length and time: 120 questions in 3 hours, as on the official exam structure page.
- Discipline weights: 20% Internal Medicine; 15% each Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Surgery and Family Medicine; 10% each Psychiatry and Public Health.
- Difficulty: 40% easy, 40% moderately difficult, 20% difficult, as in blueprint Table 2.
- Question style: four-option single-best-answer clinical vignettes, the format of the official 2012 sample paper.
Some details are not officially published, including negative marking and the current number of answer options. The real exam may also include unscored pilot items with extra time, and its discipline mix can vary by up to ±5%. Our simulations cannot reproduce these exactly.
A suggested mock-exam pathway (our recommendation)
- Week 1: take the free 20-question diagnostic and note your weakest two or three disciplines.
- Learning phase: use subject-specific tests in tutor mode, focusing on one discipline at a time.
- Consolidation: switch to timed practice tests of mixed subjects at about 1.5 minutes per question.
- Targeting: build custom tests from topics where you score lowest.
- Final weeks: sit two or three full-length mocks under exam conditions, reviewing each fully before the next.
Adjust the pace to your timeline; a short plan may compress the first three steps.
Tutor mode or exam mode?
Most of our tests can be taken in two ways. Tutor mode shows the explanation straight after each answer, which is best while you are still learning a subject. Timed or exam mode hides explanations until the end and runs a clock, which is best once you want to measure performance. A common mistake is to stay in tutor mode too long; another is to jump into full-length timed mocks before the basics are in place. Moving gradually from one to the other gives the most reliable improvement.
Free and paid mock tests
The 20-question diagnostic is free for everyone. Subject-specific and timed tests are included from the Starter plan (AED 99 for 30 days). Full-length mocks and the custom exam builder are included in Standard (AED 199 for 90 days) and Premium (AED 299 for 180 days). Prices are in AED, and VAT is applied at checkout where applicable. See pricing for a full comparison.
Getting the most from each mock
- Simulate the conditions: a quiet room, no notes, one sitting, phone away.
- Review every question, including the ones you got right, to check your reasoning was sound.
- Classify your errors: knowledge gap, misread stem, or second-guessing. Each needs a different fix.
- Watch your pacing: note where you fell behind and whether long vignettes slowed you down.
- Track trends, not single scores. One weak mock is information, not a verdict.
- Act on the results by turning your weakest topics into a focused set in the custom exam builder before the next mock.
Know the official exam-day rules too
Mocks prepare you for the questions; the official exam rules set the conditions. Candidates need face recognition and an official ID, must arrive no more than 10 minutes late and cannot leave in the first 30 minutes. A 15-minute practice session may be offered to get used to the computer system. Read more on the EMREE exam pattern page.
Practice scores are a guide to your readiness, not a prediction of your EMREE result, and no mock test can guarantee a pass.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free EMREE mock test?
Yes. Our 20-question diagnostic is free and covers all seven disciplines.
How long is a full EMREE mock?
120 questions in 3 hours, matching the official format.
Are your mocks weighted like the real exam?
Yes, to the published blueprint percentages and the 40/40/20 difficulty split. The per-discipline question counts are our simulation of those percentages.
How many full-length mocks should I take?
We suggest at least two or three in the final weeks, with full review after each. This is our recommendation, not an official requirement.
Do your mocks use real EMREE questions?
No. All questions are original practice items mapped to the official blueprint.
